•How could he understand•

We talk about Patriarchy but he doesn’t understand.

I explain and he tries but how could he?

It’s basically made to comfort him.

How could he truly understand?

«I’m sorry that you have to experience so much shit», he tells me.

He tells me while forcing me to sleep in the same bed as him.

The thought that I could feel unwell or unsafe will never come to his mind, cause how could it?

How could he truly understand how his presence is just enough to creep me out?

That his being a male is enough to scare me when we are alone in a room.

That his movements in the bed are enough to make me feel like i take up too much space.

That his movements in the bed are enough to let me feel the forcible touches of the predators before him.

How could he understand that i can never be fully sure he’s not the next one?

How could he?

This world tells him day by day how truly awesome and powerful he is.

How could he understand that the world tells me day by day how truly weak and powerless I am.

How reality proves himself right, day by day.

For him and me. Equally.

Maybe the only equality i’ll ever have in my lifetime.

How could he truly understand, when the world’s built for him.

I’m gonna cry myself to sleep after a day of protesting. Cause I know how less I did. How less my voice counts for the MANkind. How less i’m still worth.

While he’s applauding to himself for the effort he’s done. Cause he knows he’s different. He knows his worth to MANkind.

How could he understand?

And now, according to the «femininity» imposed on me.

But at least he does something.

He raises his voice.

He talks to the media.

He talks up.

He takes a stand for us.

But why can’t he be quiet once?

Why can’t he be quiet and just listen?

Truly listen.

Not to me.

I’m tired of talking.

I’m nearly tired of life.

Maybe he would understand then.

Maybe he would.

His eyes are closed and he calmly breathes.

While tears are rolling down behind my hood.

We’re not equal.

You’re lying in bed while i am in the shower.

Fully dressed.

Laying against the wall.

Just to be secure.

Just to have a room where i can lock myself in.

Just to be locked in.

To lock you out.

Trying to feel safe.

But I am not.

I never will be.

Nowhere.

We’re not equal.

You’ll never understand.

The fear.

The anger.

The caring.

The forcible world.

The forcible MANkind.

The forcible touches; never wanted.

You’ll never truly understand my pain.

Never.

He puts my phone number online, he doesn’t think about the consequences. Cause it would never happen to him.
